Hello. My name is Jeffrey Stoltzfus. (fus sounds like foos)
I’m a filmmaker.
I was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania—located about an hour west of Philadelphia. It’s popular for its large Amish community. I’m not Amish but my great grandfather was. Until one day when I assume he said, “Come on, man. Don’t jive me,” then ripped the beard from his chin and strutted out the door with a Shaft-like swagger as doves scattered to the sky in slow motion. Now I’m able to enjoy the benefits of electricity. And I gotta say, it’s pretty fantastic.
I grew up writing comic books and short stories. At fourteen I wrote my first screenplay.
I attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia for video/film production. After which I landed a job in live television news; which was equal parts depressing and fun.
I wrote, produced, and directed over a dozen short films and two independent feature-length films.
I spent the better part of a decade living in Los Angeles where I studied screenwriting and worked on movies, television shows, music videos, commercials, consulted for Hollywood royalty, and held a variety of other positions including editor, storyboard artist, and writer’s consultant.
These days I do my writing and coffee drinking in the suburbs of Washington D.C.
